“I didn’t know there was a term for the kind of person I was – I transitioned just wanting to be happy,” Samson explained.
“Growing up, I was always trying to figure out the type of man I wanted to become – I’m still trying to figure out what kind of man I want to become.”
A first shave often represents the transition from boyhood to becoming a man – something that was especially symbolic for Samson.
“I’m glad I’m at the point where I’m able to shave,” he said, as he was supervised by his incredibly reassuring dad.
“Don’t be scared; shaving is about being confident,” is the advice every man needs during their first shave, whenever and however it happens. And it doesn’t matter whether that reassurance comes from within, or from someone else.
