I have short hair and am clean shaven, but the beard trimmer makes a great hair trimmer too. I initially set the blade size wrongly so semi-shaved the side hair, but once I'd worked out how to set it properly, it all worked very nicely.I tried using the longer guard, but even at its shortest setting, it was too long for my hair, so I reverted to the shorter guard (being careful to set the blade length correctly).Though the picture shows more items and the instruction manual (which is for the original Braun product) shows more guards, there are only 2 included with the product and the cleaning brush.
