FAQs
Yes, most – but not all - of the Gillette razor blades available today are interchangeable with different handles. For example, Fusion5 cartridges can be used with Pro or SkinGuard handles and vice versa. Just check compatibility before you buy.
Although it is possible to shave body hair with Gillette men's razors bear in mind that most of the razors for men we produce are carefully designed for shaving facial hair. As such, they're typically unsuited to armpit, pubic or chest hair, for example. Equally, using Gillette blades for men on both the face and the body could lead to hygiene issues. Check out our Intimate Pubic Hair Razor if you're looking for a suitable product for non-facial use.
All the Gillette razors we produce are suitable for wet shaving but you should not use them dry. Apply adequate shaving foam and activate the razor blade's Lubrastrips with water to provide even more protection with each stroke. When it comes to a Gillette razor and trimmer combination, try to avoid trimming very wet hair since this tends to lie flat and won't trim evenly as a result. Many of the beard trimmer for men options available from Gillette are cordless, waterproof and can be used in the shower, however. This makes them ideal for use before shaving or at any other time. They can also be used in the dry, of course.
All Gillette shaving products, including the range of Gillette razor beard trimmers, are suited to use by men with all types of skin. Some men have naturally more oily skin while others might have drier skin. Wherever you are on this spectrum, Gillette razors and blades will be perfectly suited. Just make sure that your skin is clean before shaving and use adequate foam, gel or cream to ensure friction is minimised between your Gillette razor blades and your skin. Note that avoiding shaving over broken skin is advisable since this can potentially spread infections and make skin recovery time greater.
