I bought this set thinking we’d both be getting premium grooming tools and it would feel matched and fair. Sadly, that’s not my experience. What works (his side): The “him” part of the set is clearly built with high‐performing specs in mind: for example, the male trimmer in the “Intimate” range is cordless, waterproof (usable wet or dry), has SkinFirst™ technology to reduce nicks/cuts, and is designed specifically for the delicate pubic / intimate area. The male razor also lists features such as SimplePass™ technology with 5 sharp anti‑irritation blades, FlexBall technology for hard‑to‑reach places, etc and comes with a shower holder. The “him” tools genuinely feel like “premium men’s intimate grooming”. What doesn’t work (her side): The set description simply says “combining Gillette Intimate Grooming products with their counterparts from our Gillette Venus Pubic Hair & Skin range” for the “her” part. It feels like the “her” part has been given a version with fewer bells and whistles, making the gift feel unbalanced. Why I felt short‑changed / uneven: It’s labelled a “His & Hers” gift set – you expect parity. Yet one side clearly gets the tech upgrade, the other doesn’t appear to. Given the price and marketing, I expected both tools to be “top tier” in their segments; instead it feels like he’s getting premium, and I'm getting “meh”. If you have to compare “what’s included” and “what we each get” side by side, you’d likely conclude the “her” side is weaker or less featured. For a couples’ gift, it feels unfair. - the mans razor moves more smoothly and is clearly engineered for performance. whilst the woman's razor is stiff and does not move in the same way. not sure if this is the simple pass technology or the flex ball tech because neither are mentioned or offered to women. - the mans razor has a fully rubberised handle for grip, the woman's is only partially rubberised. - the mans razor comes with a shower handle whilst the women's does not. - the mens trimmer is full sized and rechargeable, the woman's trimmer is tiny and battery powered. What I liked and what I didn’t: + Liked: The men’s tools are genuinely well‑engineered; good job on that. − Didn’t like: The mismatch makes it feel like an afterthought for the “hers” side. − Didn’t like: For the price, I expected both sides to shine. − Didn’t like: The marketing “for him and her” sets an expectation of equality, which isn’t met. Final verdict: it's really just a gift for HIM. If you were buying this as a gift for a couple, and both people care about grooming/do intimate grooming, I’d caution you: the two halves are not created equal. He gets a tool with strong features, she gets something far less specified (at least based on the spec‑sheet I found). Because of that imbalance I give this set 2 out of 5 — it’s okay, but not great in terms of fairness or value for both. If my partner didn't love his bits I would have returned it because I'm not at all happy with mine.
