FAQs
How is the Gillette Pro range different from other Gillette razors?
Gillette ProGlide and Gillette ProShield razors have been developed for a premium shaving experience. Unlike some of our three-bladed men's shaving razor options, the Gillette Pro range only features five-bladed refills, helping to ensure every hair is captured when you shave. Gillette ProShield blades benefit from an anti-friction layer just like Gillette ProGlide blades, something you won't find on all our blades. Note that Gillette ProGlide blades are individually spring-mounted for comfort while ProShield cartridges feature a precision trimmer mounted on the rear.
Are the Gillette Pro razors suitable for all skin types?
Yes, the Gillette men's razors in the Pro range are suited to everyone regardless of their skin type. This means they can be used whether you happen to have particularly dry or oily skin. For best results, use them with a suitable shaving gel or foam which you can find within the wider range of Gillette shaving products.
Are Gillette Pro range razors suitable for both wet and dry shaving?
Gillette ProGlide and ProShield blades come with advanced lubrications strips which activate when moistened. However, this does not mean that the Pro range is suited to dry shaving. You should wash your face and apply a generous amount of shave foam whilst also activating the razor cartridge's Lubrastrips if you want to enjoy a close yet comfortable shave.
How do I use a Gillette Pro razor for the best shave?
Fit your Gillette Pro razor to a suitable handle. Like some other – but not all - Gillette razor blades ProShield and ProGlide refills can be used on each other's handles. After applying shaving gel, hold the handle so you can make even strokes in the direction of your hair's growth against your face. Use even strokes without pressing down allowing the head to swivel for close contact. Rinse often and apply a moisturiser or other aftercare product when you have finished.
How do I clean and maintain my Gillette Pro razor?
Gillette Pro razors have precisely engineered blade mountings. These can shift out of alignment if you wipe or tap them to remove excess foam or shaved beard hair. Instead, simply rinse them in clean water. After use, do the same and allow them aerate rather than towelling them dry. Store spare blades in a place where they won't be exposed to too much airborne moisture.
